The pajama game Cover Image DVD DVD

The pajama game

Summary: Sleepwear, a labor dispute, and singing come together for perhaps the first and only time in film history in The Pajama Game. In a small Iowa town, the main employer is the SleepTite Pajama Company, where the mostly female workforce is demanding a badly needed 7 1/2 cent-an-hour pay increase. Competing firms wages have already gone up, so why not theirs? Babe, the headstrong leader of the workers' Union stages a garment factory showdown with management, represented in person by the new factory superintendent Sid. When a work slowdown gets no results, Babe stops the machinery, and Sid has to fire her. They were falling in love, but since he's management and she's labor, can that ever work? Featuring members of the original Broadway cast (Doris Day was not in the original cast).
