Summary: On February 29, 2000, ninety-year-old Doris Haddock completed a fourteen-month walk from Los Angeles to the steps of the Capitol in Washington, D.C. --undertaken to draw attention to the need for national campaign finance reform. In those 3,200 miles, she met thousands of people who added their voices to hers. On the journey, Doris kept a diary tracking the progress of her walk and recalling events and the people she met.
